Lisa

Lisa lives in the Arava desert in Israel. She documents the cycle of life in the seemingly barren nature around her through her art.

Lisa has a PhD in Cultural Anthropology, and has worked as a researcher on the social memory of the Holocaust, and on human-nature-technology relations in the Indian Ocean in a prior life. Since moving to Israel with her husband and daughter in 2020, she explores the desert landscape surrounding her through observation and art.
When she doesn’t paint, she probably gets lost behind a book, writes speculative fiction, or spends time with her family, dog and cats.

In July 2024, I participated in the Artists’ Greenhouse of the Fresh Paint Art Fair.

Since October 2025, I participate in the Shemesh program for supporting artists of the Gaza envelope and Israel’s South.
